MS: Letter from Robert Burns to Robert McIndoe, dated Mauchline, 5 August 1788
- Robert Burns, Author
- Object Number:
Robert McIndoe was a silk merchant based near Virginia Street in Glasgow. In this letter, Robert asks him to send 'fifteen yards black lutestring silk’, ’the same kind as that of which I bought a gown & petticoat from you formerly.’ Perhaps Robert is referencing the black wedding gown his wife Jean wore earlier in that same year.
