MS: 'A manual of religious belief, composed by William Burnes for the instruction of his children.'
- William Burnes, Author; John Murdoch, creator
- Object Number:
William Burnes was a staunchly religious man. He wrote A Manual of Religious Belief for the religious education of his children around 1768. It takes the form of a dialogue between father and son on what is morally right and wrong. It is very similar to protestant catechism books used during the eighteenth century.
This copy was written in the hand of the Burns family tutor, John Murdoch.
