Portrait of Robert Burns after Alexander Nasmyth.

This bust portrait is a copy in oils of an earilier portrait by Alexander Nasmyth (1758-1840) which he painted from life in Edinburgh in 1787. The original hangs in the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh to whom it was bequeathed by Burns's son William Nichol Burns in 1872.
Nasmyth is known to have painted three versions of the Bust portrait of Robert Burns, of the later two, one is in the National Portrait Gallery in London and the other in the Glasgow Art Gallery.
