Journey, this Burns season, into Burns Alicht, a unique sparkling birthplace tour in celebration of Scotland’s poet Robert Burns. Begin with free entry to Burns Cottage gardens where you collect your group’s hand held lantern and some brand new surprises await by the pond! Meander along the illuminated Poet’s Path celebrating the nature and seasons of Burns landscape. Cross the bridge and prepare to be lured to the spooky Auld Kirk Graveyard where witches may lurk. Make time to glance o’er to the historic moonlit Brig o’ Doon where Tam makes haste and complete your journey back to the museum (where drouthy neibours revel) through the red red rose path. In this journey o’ exploration surprises are a plenty. Discover special illuminations, be enchanted by mischievous sights, sounds and entertainment and delight in landmarks coming alive. This special evening concludes with a finale burning of John Barleycorn to the sound of tribal drums! (Robert Burns Birthplace Museum 10.45pm) Price includes entry to an evening of Burns entertainment with Ayrshire food and drink for sale, the timed landmarks tour and the burning of John Barleycorn finale! (NB – Entry to the landmarks tour is timed every fifteen minutes. Customers should make sure that they are at Burns Cottage in advance of their timed session being called. It is up to visitors how long they spend at each part of the event but there is no repeat entry to any of the landmarks apart from the Museum which ticket holders can enter any time throughout the evening 6pm – 11.30pm. (Burns Cottage will be open too for those who wish to wander through but please note this is a small space so please do not overcrowd).
