PurposeThis is an exciting time to volunteer with the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. A new state of the art building has been constructed which will house the Burns Collection of National Significance. The collection includes many of Burns’ manuscripts, as well as items of his clothing, his family’s possessions and portraits of the Bard. Burns Cottage has also been re-interpreted in an atmospheric and imaginative way with unique visuals and evocative audio recordings.

Duties
The purpose of the role is to assist the visitors with understanding the interpretation of the Cottage and the Museum, as well as being able to answer general queries about the Museum and Cottage displays.

Support
Provide guided weekend tours for visitors in either the Cottage or in the Museum.

Successful candidates will:

Experience or a background in working with the public is an advantage, but willingness to join in and have a positive attitude is more important.
